Crisis

((Note: I may rename the thread depending on where it's headed.

Kaen was sitting at his desk in front of the room, and Shin was messing with the soil on the ground. Shin kept on writing and drawing pictures onto it, and letting out a slight cackle when he amused himself. Kaen sighed, and looked up from what he was working on.

"Shin, what are you doing? I'm trying to prepare for class. We will have one...eventually." he said. Shin looked up.

"I'm drawing on the ground. What does it look like I'm doing? I'm bored." he complained. Kaen sighed in amusement, and continued

"Well, I need to work. I'm sure something interesting will happen here. It tends to happen a lot." he chuckled.

"Well, Nii-san is more interesting when there's a fight going on." Shin complained.

"And you're more sane when there's no fighting going on, so it's even." Kaen countered. Shin pouted, and went back to drawing on the ground.

Aima entered the classroom, some paperwork under her arm. She glanced over at Shin for a moment as she walked past him, and approached Kaen.

"Hey, have you seen Natsuki? She's supposed to be starting as a Teacher's assistant today, and I'm supposed to be starting her off." She inquired a little exasperatedly.

"Natsuki?...No. Sorry, haven't seen her." Kaen smiled apologetically. Shin eyed Aima, then stood up.

"Hey, Dog Ears. You look strong, wanna fight?" he challenged. Kaen glared at Shin, and Shin backed off. At that moment, Satoru came barging in through the door.

"Boss! Found ya!" he yelled in excitement, only then he realized he ran into Aima.

"Sorry 'bout that." he laughed nervously.

Aima growled at Shin, but was then cut off by Satoru running into her, makign her drop her papers.

"Yaro..." She muttered under he breath, picking up the paper and standing up straight. "Who's this guy?" She said aloud, pointing to Satoru.

"Satoru, wondering when you were coming." Kaen smiled. He responded to Aima's question with "He's a friend. He's...like Ryo, Shin, and me."

"She knows?" Satoru asked, bewildered.

"Most of the island does It's hard to hide a fact that we're different. Turns out we're not the only ones." Kaen said, and Shin nodded.

"As it turns out, here, being ordinary is different, and being different is ordinary," Narakun explained to Satoru with a shrug. She'd come out of nowhere and was leaning against the wall casually. Her face showed slight signs of sleeplessness, and her eyes were red. ((Vampire much? xD;)

"Y'know, it's a bad idea to have your dirt just laying in pile on the floor. People like Shin will mess with them, and someone could trip," she said somewhat smugly to Kaen.

Davis entered the room. He stared at the teachers.

"Um, excuse me, I'm sorry to interrupt. I came here looking for something," he said.

Kaen chuckled at Narakun's statement.

"Fair enough." he said as Davis entered.

"You!" Satoru swung around to lock his eyes with Davis'. "You're the one who was ranting about...us."

"You know him?" Kaen asked as he went back to working.

"Yeah. Arashi and....what's his name...Duride-"

"Durandal"

"Yeah him. They went with this guy somewhere...." Satoru finished. When he didn't see Arashi or Durandal come in after Davis, he asked, "What happened to them?"

"Not much time to explain, but we found Pyrex. And, he doesn't exactly have a body right now."

Davis walked over to a filing cabinet (you have one, right?). He opened it and began to look through it.

Narakun rolled her eyes at Satoru. "Anyone here involved with Durandal or Pyrex is trouble. Figure that out, and maybe you'll survive here."

Narakun seemed to immediately lose interest in the situation as soon as Pyrex was mentioned. "Dammit, can't that kid go do something that doesn't require me saving his sorry butt? Like chess?" she groaned.

"Heh. I'm used to trouble." Satoru smirked, and Kaen spoke.

"He'd probably still need your help" he teased, and snapped his attention back to Davis.

"Can I help you with something that doesn't require you going through my stuff?" he asked in a more stern tone. Shin got back up and dusted off his hands.

"Pyrex....isn't he the aura kid? Whaddya mean he doesn't have a body? Is he a spirit or somethin?...I could help with that. I need something not so boring to do, anyways." he offered, his voice hinting he could be up to something else.

Narakun glared at Kaen. Normally, she might be amused by his teasing but she was in a bad mood.

Narakun's fist clenched frustratedly. Why couldn't the island ever be peaceful for as much as five minutes? She'd come here hoping to escape her previously violent lifestyle and painful history, but circumstances weren't better here.

"There is nothing you can do Kaen. There is a document on Pyrex's condition hidden somewhere inside of your cabinet. The guild decided to hide his research throughout the grounds to prevent future attacks."

"And yes, without a body is the best way to describe it."

Davis pulled an older pieace of paper from the cabinet.

In the blink of an eye Narakun stood at the opposite side of the room from Davis, holding the piece of paper.

"As far as I know, you're not permitted to use teachers' resources and property for your own personal use," Narakun said coldly. "I believe we have rights to know exactly what is going on here."

Narakun's red eyes seemed to glow with a harsh coldness, and the dark circles of sleeplessness under her eyes accented their unnatural color.

"Give that back," said Davis, not making eye contact. "Give it back, now."

"You should probably tell us what's going on. As for the record, there's no information about you being residents here, so I could report you. You wouldn't want that now, would you?" Kaen pointed out. Shin smirked and Satoru sighed.

And so things get interesting again"

"Does this always happen?"

"Yeah, with you guys in administration, this happens all the time."

"And I would have no idea why I'd not be on your files. I've been here since the school began. Now, please, give me the document! Okay?" said Davis.

"You haven't explained what you need it for." Kaen answered.

"It has information on Pyrex's condition. I need it!"

"A little more in-depth please. And how would Pyrex know about the condition he's in now, when he put it in my filing cabinet who-knows-how-long-ago?" Kaen continued interrogating.

"He wouldn't know about the condition because it isn't all his research. And don't think that Pyrex is the only one capable of hiding tape recorders, video cameras, and in this case important documents throughout the school. You'd be surprised how many easter egg hunts there are in this school," said Davis. Things were not looking good for him.

It was at this moment that a fairly well-recovered Raven entered, along with Renault.

"Hey," Raven said, "we gonna have a class in here?"

Narakun's eye twitched at Davis's smart remarks, and she was quite indeed tempted to shred the paper right then and there.

Narakun only glared at Raven and Renault as they entered.
